“Helping people understand the emotional and relationship patterns that keep showing up, and find more grounded ways forward”
Dafne Urrutia
I am a Clinical Psychologist who works with adults, young people, parents, and families. My practice is focused on emotional wellbeing, relationship dynamics, parenting, family relationships, and development across the lifespan.
Many people come to therapy feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, wondering why the same difficulties keep repeating in their lives and relationships. Some have previously experienced therapeutic spaces where they felt rushed, misunderstood, or given strategies that did not feel relevant to their circumstances.
I believe therapy works best when we take the time to understand the bigger picture. My aim is to help you make sense of what may be happening beneath the surface, explore your experiences with curiosity and compassion, and develop a deeper understanding of yourself, your relationships, and the challenges you are facing.
I hold a Bachelor of Psychology and a Master of Clinical Psychology. Since 2018, I have worked across clinical, family, and developmental settings.
My approach is warm, thoughtful, collaborative, and grounded in evidence-based practice. I aim to create a space where you feel respected and supported while working towards meaningful insight and sustainable, practical change.

I view therapy as a space to pause, reflect, and make sense of your inner world, your relationships, and the way you interact with the world around you.
Rather than focusing solely on symptoms, I am interested in understanding your broader story. Together, we explore your experiences, relationships, environment, strengths, developmental history, and the ways of coping or responding that may have developed over time.
I believe that understanding creates the foundation for meaningful change. By building insight, strengthening emotional awareness, and developing practical strategies, therapy can support lasting growth and wellbeing.
There is no one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. Each person brings a unique story, and the therapy process should be tailored to their individual needs, goals, values, and circumstances.

Outside of work, I enjoy reading, coastal walks, spending time with loved ones, comedy, movies, and stand-up.
I am naturally curious about human behaviour, relationships, emotional development, and the different ways people make sense of their experiences and the world around them.
People who know me often describe me as thoughtful, curious, and grounded. The values that guide me both personally and professionally are honesty, loyalty, and commitment.
If this sounds like the kind of support you are looking for, you are welcome to get in touch to discuss whether therapy may be a good fit.

Many of the adults I support are navigating relationship difficulties, self-doubt, emotional overwhelm, anxiety, perfectionism, life transitions, or difficulties feeling connected to themselves and others.
Therapy provides an opportunity to better understand what keeps showing up, explore how past and present experiences may be influencing current challenges, and develop more helpful ways of relating to yourself, others, and everyday life.
Our work may involve strengthening emotional awareness, building coping skills, improving communication, and supporting changes that feel both meaningful and sustainable.

Growing up involves constant change, and at times those changes can feel confusing, overwhelming, or isolating.
I support young people navigating challenges related to emotions, confidence, friendships, identity, family relationships, school pressures, and life transitions.
My goal is to provide a warm and reliable space where young people feel comfortable being themselves while developing a greater understanding of their experiences and building skills that support their wellbeing.
Where appropriate, I also work collaboratively with parents and caregivers to help support the young person’s emotional development and broader environment.

Parenting can be one of life’s most meaningful experiences while also being one of its most challenging.
Many parents are balancing the demands of work, relationships, family life, and the increasing pressure to have all the answers. This can often lead to stress, exhaustion, self-doubt, and a sense of feeling overwhelmed.
I work alongside parents in a supportive and non-judgemental way, helping them better understand their child’s developmental stage, emotional needs, behaviour, and the dynamics that may be influencing family relationships.
Together, we explore what may be happening beneath the surface, strengthen parent-child connection, and identify practical ways forward that support the wellbeing of both the child and the family as a whole.
My aim is not to tell parents how they should parent, but to support them in finding an approach that aligns with their values, their strengths, and their child’s individual needs.
